Pong was the first game developed by Atari.

After producing Computer Space, Nolan Bushnell decided to form then Atari company to produce more games.
Bushnell hired Allan Alcorn because of his experience with electrical engineering and computer science. Alcorn made Pong as a training exercise but Bushnell and and Atari co-founder Ted Dabney, surpised by the quality of his work, decided to manufacture the game.
