The mobile game features similar gameplay to the PC version, albeit on a smaller scale. Two modes are available:a campaign about the Siege of Malta with fifteen scenarios to play, and skirmish, where the player can play with up to two AI players (either two enemies, one ally and one enemy, or all against all, altought some versions don't have all the possibilities available). Settlers gather food, wood, coin, and experience as resources, and military units can be trained in batch.The player must progress through five different Ages: Discovery Age, Colonial Age, Fortress Age, Industrial Age and Imperial Age.
