Payday 2 is a first-person shooter developed by Swedish company Overkill Software . The game was released on August 13, 2013 for Windows and on August 16, 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 , both by 505 Games . On June 12, 2015, Payday 2 was released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One . A sequel was announced on May 8, 2023 with Payday 3. This sequel would be released in 2023.
