Xybots” is a pirate prototype for the NES of the legendary “official” pirates Tengen (subsidiary of Atari Games), a port of the arcade game of the same name, a pseudo-3D maze shooter with the possibility of cooperative play. The release of the home version took place on almost all home computers of that time, while the console versions for the SMD and NES were announced in 1990, but were cancelled: the 8-bit version is completely ready (even the concept art for boxes was developed), 16-bit at the beginning of the development process, the reason for which, most likely, was the already traditional for Tengen problems with licensing and distribution in the United States. A dump of the full version of the NES went to be in the public domain in 2015.
