The sun crept over the horizon, casting a warm, golden light across the verdant forest. Crows where cawing in the distance, and the air was thick with the scent of wildflowers. Nerwen, an elf girl with red hair like fire and emerald green eyes, stirred in her cabin, stretching lazily before yawning. She had spent the night tossing and turning, plagued by nightmares of an evil, mad king and his minions who were slowly destroying their beloved kingdom. As she sat up, she glanced at the ancient tome lying open on her bedside table. It was a journal kept by the late Keeper of the Forest, who had been slain by the mad king's forces just days before.
