The Wii was the first Nintendo console to offer official downloaded content to customers outside of Japan. Capcom in particular released downloadable content for a number of their franchises on the Wii. Hackers were later able to able to save the DLC installation files as “.wad” files that can be installed on any hacked Wii system with the base game.
