A japanese-only hack-and-slash game in the same vein as Koei’s Dynasty Warriors series. However where FromSoftware’s game differs is a focus on more realism and tactical play, as the game allows for more control of your units.
The story is set in the end of the Heian period (1185) in Japan and focuses on the life and wars Minamoto no Yoshitsune took part in, mainly the Genpei War, a civil war between himself and Kiyomori Taira.
