A tactical role-playing game (abbreviated as TRPG; sometimes referred to as strategy role-playing game, or SRPG) is a type of video game which incorporates elements of traditional role-playing video games and strategy games. In Japan these games are known as “Simulation RPGs”
This sub-genre of role-playing game principally refers to games which incorporate elements from strategy games as an alternative to traditional role-playing game (RPG) systems. Like standard RPGs, the player controls a finite party and battles a similar number of enemies. And like other RPGs, death is usually temporary. But this genre incorporates strategic gameplay such as tactical movement on an isometric grid.
Gunho Brigade is a tactical RPG published by Tomy Corporation in the year 2000 for the Playstation One console that takes place in a futuristic world where a group of people try to combat the evil robot forces that controls the World. The game begins when the 2 main characters of the game are being pursued by a group of machines in a desert canyon.
The gameplay is the usual in this kind of games, the player units got a limited range of movement and different attack, the big difference with other Tactical RPG games is that after selecting the movements that game graphics changes to a 3d view in which the attacks are displayed.
To advance through the story (that is displayed using anime video sequences the player have to pass the missions.
