Hello! This is Pokémon Haneru, my first ROM hack ever. It was a solo project that I have worked on for about a month and a half so far. Are there errors? A few graphical errors and some bugs for sure but nothing that should completely break the game. It is my first ROM hack that I made from “scratch”. It's based on a HUBOL rom and I used HMA to edit and add in many of the features like ASM routines, etc.
I've always been a fan of ROM hacks that offered a more vanilla story but with quality-of-life features. With that being said, I also wanted this game to feature something I enjoy the most about Pokémon: team building. This game is harder than a vanilla game but I wouldn't say it's as difficult as something like Radical Red. Every trainer and gym leader will have IVs and EVs. The AI is supposed to be better than a vanilla game but it can still be easily exploited. You are still highly encouraged to use different Pokémon when you play. There is an optional level cap that can be turned on or off at the player's house (upstairs) and in every Pokémon Center location (upstairs).
Why play this game instead of other ROM hacks such as Radical Red, etc? Well, you're not forced to but if you like more vanilla experiences like myself with QoL features, then hopefully you will like it. This game was my first ROM hack that I made from “scratch”.
