The legendary DizzyEgg and mere mortal Unfolding have collaborated to bring you Inkwell:
a mystery-puzzle-roguelike with permanent and per-run upgrades, characters to unlock, and a compelling mystery to unveil!
This is a big one. THE DizzyEgg – yeah, the same DizzyEgg who's responsible for pokeemerald-expansion, although he would never phrase it like that – saw something in the convoluted puzzle and story romhaikus I've made in the past, and teamed up with me to make something really different from a traditional Pokemon experience! So many custom features were made just for this, and for once I wasn't terribly limited by my mediocre coding skills. And so the scope was massive – we spent far too many sleepless nights scripting, drawing, and writing to get this done. A more elaborate re-release is planned, too!
We made this for Team Aqua's Romhacking Contest 2, with the theme Myth! (Remember that theme, because if you've played anything I've made before, you know I'm downright manic about doing something new with themes!) Please enjoy, and tell us about any bugs you've found or things you liked!
