I always felt that Pokémon and Dark Souls already have a lot in common, so I sat down and tried to bring over Souls-mechanics that Pokémon was missing to get a full soulslike experience. Primarily to start a full DS inspired region, but for the (very likely) possibility of me never finishing a huge project like that, I thought I could at least release the implemented features:

– Any gained EXP is directly converted to money
– Pokémon can only level up at a Pokécenter by talking to the nurse and spending money on EXP (conversion rate 1:1)
– When healing at a PC or fainting, all defeated trainers are reset
– When getting defeated by a trainer, all money will be lost. It can be aquired back by defeating the same trainer
– When getting defrated by a wild Pokémon, all money will be lost. A item will spawn at the encounter location that can be picked up, to gain back lost amount
– Instead of running boots (granted from start by default), the player gets a Potion Flask key item. This has three charges and can be used to fully restore all Pokémon in the party. The charges get replenished when healing at a PC
