Ise-Shima Mystery Annai: Itsuwari no Kuro Shinju, is a detective/mystery adventure game stylized in retro NES graphics and gameplay features. The player follows the detective Ken on his journey from Tokyo after the discovery of a corpse in Ueno Onshi Park Tokyo to the prefecture of Ise-Shima. During his travel, collecting clues about the mysterious murder and it’s connections with a mysterious black pearl, called “Aozetsu”, lead Ken to a confrontation with a criminal called Anata. More murders and mysteries follow whilst at Ise-Shima.
The player can start a dialog with several NPC’s and can gather information which can be used to solve clues. The interface and style of the game are reminiscent of old NES games and only require a selection of the correct answer/word or phrase to continue. Designs by Kiyokazu Arai.
